The Spine - Assembly Guide

Controller - Nunchuck

1. The Nunchuck Controller

The ergonomic Nunchuck controller uses RF to connect to the Spine’s motor and needs 2 normal AA batteries. It has four buttons:

  • White Speed/Break stick: Top (thumb)
    • Push forward to Accelerate, backwards to brake
  • Blue Cruise Control Button: Backside
    • Push and hold to maintain the same speed, regardless of incline changes
  • Red Direction Button: Backside
    • Push once to change Direction - Reverse/forward
  • Small white connector button: Front right
    • Push once to connect to Spine Bluetooth receiver
    • Blue light in front left side of controller indicates connection:
      • Steady Blue light = Connected
      • Blinking Blue light = Searching connection
      • No light = Off

NOTE: Can’t seem to turn the Nunchuck off? Just take out the batteries and put them back.

2. Driving instructions

Driving a Faraday Spine is thrilling and great fun, but take care. This is not a toy, it is a means of transportation. Thus, show careful alertness and abide by local traffic regulations.

IMPORTANT POINTS:

  • ALWAYS make sure your controller is working properly
    • Smartphone prepared as described in section 3.1.2
    • Nunchuck battery level okay
  • Connect the wi-fi to the board, before starting the app
  • Wear safety gear when driving (at least helmet)
  • Beware of water – electronics are nano covered, but not 100% waterproof
  • Inform people not to step on the back motor unit
  • Max allowed weight 120kg
  • Stop riding instantly if batteries seem weak (performance drops)
  • ALWAYS unplug cables when the vehicle is not in use
